  • Why do you use glass jars?
We feel glass jars are a superior storage method. Glass is inert, non-porous, and natural which prevents unwanted chemicals from leaching into our products. Glass is durable and can last forever if you take care of it. Glass can be washed and used over and over again, preventing unnecessary plastic waste. If you order multiple refills from us and your label on your glass jar begins to wear or deteriorate, you can request a replacement to be included in your next order.
  • What is bagasse and why do you use it for packaging?
Some of our product refills are available in bagasse containers. We admit it. Our bagasse packaging may seem a little unusual and is definitely NOT as pretty as our glass jars. We choose these containers as an environmentally friendly option because bagasse is plant based (shorter growing times than trees), biodegradable and compostable. This is important to us as we are a company concerned about the growing plastic waste predicament.
  • Your products don't smell very strong, why not?"
There are some people who are either allergic or sensitive to smell. We only use 100% essential oils in our products. We do NOT use any fragrance oils. Therefore, our products may not have a strong smell to some people. Every essential oil used in each product is picked solely for its healing properties, NOT it's smell. While we do strive to present products that "smell good", smell is not our sole determining factor when selecting our EOs.
  • Are your products organic?
According to the USDA website: "Organic is a labeling term that indicates that the food or other agricultural product has been produced through approved methods. These methods integrate cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic fertilizers, sewage sludge, irradiation, and genetic engineering may not be used." We recognize typically small businesses can't afford an "organic" labeling approval. We can't use "organic" on our products because some of the ingredients contained are sources from small businesses that don't necessarily have the "organic" certification. This is where our relationships we've built with other companies comes into play. We use products from companies and small businesses we trust and have been purchasing from for years. We seek to source ingredients as local to us as possible and when we can't, we begin searching in nearby areas, regions and then nationwide. Different customers may have different ideas of what they mean when they say "organic". To clarify, we strive to purchase and utilize only organic, non-gmo, unrefined, cold-pressed, pesticide-free ingredients to the maximum extent possible.
